Rust Console Edition has some of the most punishing recoil in any console shooter — the AK-47 pattern is a hard upward pull with a pronounced right shift after shot 5, and the LR-300 blooms quickly past shot 8. Zero recoil on both is achievable with a well-tuned Cronus Zen script, but it requires separate calibration per weapon because their patterns are fundamentally different.
AK vs. LR-300 recoil patterns on console
- AK-47: Strong upward vertical pull from shot 1, rightward horizontal shift from shots 5–10, then stabilises. Needs a heavy vertical compensation and a moderate right-to-left correction at mid-spray.
- LR-300: Faster fire rate, tighter initial spread, blooms faster after shot 8. Lighter vertical compensation works better — too much correction overshoots on the fast burst.
- Semi-auto rifle (SAR): Very manageable. A light vertical pull with almost no lateral shift — easy to tame with any general anti-recoil script.
VZ Rust scripts — what is available
The Rust Console library has 18 scripts. Top picks:
- L4 Rust v6.1 — the most up-to-date L4 version. Anti-recoil and auto-sprint. Per-weapon values in the header for AK and LR-300.
- L4 Rust v5.0.2 — the prior stable L4 version; still widely used. Anti-recoil and auto-sprint.
- Lyght Rust Anti Recoil — clean single-purpose anti-recoil; auto-jump included. Simplest to tune.
- Liquid Rust v1.37 — auto aim and strafe combination; more complex but effective for aggressive players who push enemies.
- Rust Gamepack v1 — auto reload and auto switch; the best option for players who want automation macros rather than recoil compensation specifically.
How to tune for near-zero recoil
- Download L4 Rust v6.1 and open in Cronus Zen Studio.
- Find the AK recoil variable (usually
AK_VERTandAK_HORIZ) and the LR-300 equivalents. - Fire the AK at a flat rock at 40m — observe the spray line. If it still climbs: increase
AK_VERTby 10. If it dips: decrease by 10. - Repeat for horizontal: if shots drift right, increase
AK_HORIZ. If left, decrease. - Tune LR-300 separately — usually needs 15–20% lower vertical value than AK.
True zero recoil is achievable for the AK at medium range with this process. Beyond ~70m, bloom from the server tick rate limits how far scripts can compensate — that is a server-side limitation, not a script limitation. See also the full Rust scripts guide.
