Destiny 2's PvP (Crucible and Trials of Osiris) is one of the most skill-intensive console PvP environments — time-to-kill is extremely tight, aim is critical, and the meta weapons (hand cannons, pulse rifles) each have distinct recoil that must be managed at range. Cronus Zen scripts help controller players manage this recoil more consistently, particularly in the high-stakes Trials environment.
Destiny 2 meta weapons and their recoil
- Hand cannons (Rose, Igneous Hammer) — the Destiny 2 PvP staple. Semi-auto, moderate upward recoil per shot, no lateral shift on well-rolled guns. Rapid fire scripts have the highest impact here — bringing consistent semi-auto firing to the fire rate cap.
- Pulse rifles (Elsie's Rifle, Messenger) — burst fire, controlled recoil per burst with slight upward climb on sustained fire. Anti-recoil between bursts helps maintain vertical positioning across a full engagement.
- SMGs (Multimach CCX, Bequest) — fast close-range weapons. Aim assist extension is more valuable than anti-recoil at the ranges where SMGs are used in Destiny PvP.
PvE vs. PvP use cases
PvP (Crucible / Trials): This is where scripts have the highest impact. Consistent hand cannon timing and reduced pulse rifle climb in sustained engagement give a real edge at the 3-shot kill ranges that dominate Trials. Anti-recoil and rapid fire scripts are the main tools.
PvE (Raids / Nightfalls): Scripts can help with endgame PvE — especially rapid fire on DPS phases where sustained fire rate matters. However, recoil in PvE is less critical since most encounters are at closer range with larger hitboxes.
VZ library status for Destiny 2
The VZ library currently does not carry dedicated Destiny 2 scripts. General-purpose anti-recoil and rapid fire scripts from the library work on Destiny 2 with manual tuning. Dedicated Destiny 2 scripts are planned as coverage expands. Check the library for current status — filter by game or use the search to find any Destiny-tagged entries added since this post.
For now, a general rapid fire script tuned to 8–10 RPS works well for hand cannons, and a standard anti-recoil script with light vertical compensation covers pulses well.
Bungie's anti-cheat in Destiny 2
Destiny 2 uses BattlEye on PC, which operates at the driver/process level — the same situation as R6 Siege. USB HID devices are not scanned. On console (PS5/Xbox), there is no client-side anti-cheat — only Bungie's server-side stat monitoring, which is less granular than Riot's or Valve's systems.
