Rapid fire on Cronus Zen works by sending repeated trigger inputs at a configurable rate — faster and more consistently than any human thumb can press. For Call of Duty, this has two use cases: converting semi-automatic weapons (Marksman rifles, pistols, shotguns) to near-full-auto, and pushing full-automatic weapons like SMGs to their mechanical fire rate cap without trigger fatigue on longer engagements.

Which CoD weapons benefit from rapid fire

Not all weapons benefit equally. Here is the honest breakdown:

  • High benefit — semi-autos: Marksman rifles (DM56, MCW 6.8), pistols (Renetti, X13), semi-auto shotguns (Riveter). Rapid fire is transformational here — a Marksman rifle becomes functionally full-auto at mid-range.
  • Moderate benefit — slow full-autos: LMGs and slower ARs (TAQ-56, RPK). Rapid fire pushes these to their mechanical RPM cap, squeezing out a bit more DPS on longer shots.
  • Low benefit — fast full-autos: Fast SMGs (Lachmann Sub, Fennec) are already near their mechanical cap. Rapid fire adds little and can cause desync at very high rates.
  • No benefit — bolt-actions: Bolt-action snipers cycle between shots regardless of trigger speed. Rapid fire has no effect.

VZ rapid fire scripts for CoD

The CoD library includes several scripts with rapid fire:

  • Toxic v5 - COD — includes both anti-recoil and rapid fire. The rapid fire rate is set in the script header and can be tuned per weapon type.
  • Mvp v5 COD — aim assist + rapid fire combination. Popular for Warzone Resurgence where semi-auto pistols are often secondary weapons.
  • Private v1 Opencode — includes drop shot and rapid fire; favoured for aggressive BO6 play where pistol rapid fire + drop shot is a strong combo.

How to set the right rapid fire rate

Rapid fire rate is measured in shots per second or milliseconds between inputs. A rate that is too high causes game-side desync (the game processes inputs faster than it can register hits). The safe range for BO6 and Warzone is 8–14 rounds per second for semi-autos. Most VZ scripts default to 10 RPS, which is safe for all CoD titles.

Semi-auto to full-auto: how it works mechanically

The script watches for R2/RT held and sends repeated full-press → release inputs at the configured rate, rather than waiting for a physical trigger pull. The game receives individual shot inputs but at a consistent machine rate. On semi-auto weapons, this means the maximum fire rate is the weapon's semi-auto cap, not the script's rate — the script brings you consistently to that cap.
