Epic Games uses EasyAntiCheat (EAC) in Fortnite. EAC scans running processes and memory for cheat software — it does not and cannot scan USB HID devices like the Cronus Zen. The Zen communicates with your PC or console as a standard licensed controller. From EAC's perspective, the game is receiving normal controller inputs.

Why the Zen operates below EAC detection

EAC hooks into the operating system at the process level. It looks for injected .dll files, memory reads from the Fortnite process, and unauthorised kernel driver access. The Zen is a USB device communicating over the standard HID protocol — the same communication layer as a wired Xbox or PlayStation controller. EAC has no mechanism to inspect HID input streams; it only monitors the software stack above the OS input layer.

What actually increases ban risk in Fortnite

Epic's server-side systems (separate from EAC) flag statistically impossible player behaviour. The behaviours that attract investigation:

  • Instant edit + shot sequences — edit macros that execute in under 100ms consistently are faster than any human. These generate anomalous build telemetry.
  • Perfect no-recoil at all ranges 100% of the time — some recoil variance is natural. Scripts that apply 100% correction with zero deviation look statistically impossible over hundreds of shots.
  • Exploit macros — slide cancels, super jumps, or edit macros that exploit game-side bugs (rather than standard hardware inputs) carry the most risk because they leave obvious server-side traces.

What is safe to use

  • Anti-recoil with variance — scripts that apply 75–85% correction with a small randomised component look like a skilled player with good muscle memory.
  • Aim assist extension — extends the built-in bubble by a small margin; statistically indistinguishable from a high-sense player with good bubble awareness.
  • Basic movement mods (auto-sprint, crouch) — these replicate actions any player can perform; no anomalous telemetry.

Smart usage tips

  1. Avoid instant-zero edit macros — they are the #1 behavioral flag in Fortnite.
  2. Keep recoil compensation below 90% — some spray variance is safer.
  3. Do not combine every possible mod. Simple aim assist + anti-recoil is enough and cleaner behaviorally.
  4. Use the Fortnite library scripts which are designed with variance built in.

Running Auto Tune V3 (VIP+) generates curves tuned to your specific sensitivity — which produce more natural telemetry than generic presets.
